Milestones
70 years of pressure cooking

1953
Patented, multi-stage safety valve
Fissler invents the pressure cooker with a patented, multi-stage safety valve, making pressure cookers safe for home use for the first time. Fissler thus revolutionizes cooking in kitchens worldwide.

1958
Vitavit® pressure cooker
The Fissler Vitavit® pressure cooker is now available with a distinctive red lid. The pot's safety valve was the first of its kind and continues to protect flavors and vitamins to this day.

1962
Patented Unimatik
Fissler patents the Unimatik – a “safety and venting valve for a pressure cooker”. Besides automatically venting excess pressure, the valve prevents, for the first time, the unwanted escape of the cooker's contents through the valve.

1969
The first quick frying pans
Sixteen years after the worldwide success of the pressure cooker, Fissler responds to the needs of passionate cooks and launches the first pressure frying pan.

1973
New production facility
Leading technology: In Hoppstädten-Weiersbach, 25 km from Idar-Oberstein, Fissler opened a new production facility. This laid the foundation for the sustainable production of premium cookware – Made in Germany. To this day, every Fissler pressure cooker is produced in Hoppstädten-Weiersbach and inspected by hand.

1976
The Fissler Solaryme
The Fissler pressure cooker appears for the first time with the iconic solar design, which reflects the colors of the Hoppstädten-Weiersbach coat of arms. The design proudly signifies the Fissler brand's origin – "Made in Germany" – and remains particularly popular in Asia. Products featuring this traditional design are still successfully sold internationally under the name "Solaryme."

1982
The Quattro quick frying pan
Fissler presents the Quattro frying pan. Combined with the additional lid, this frying pan becomes a true all-rounder, capable of quickly cooking, frying, steaming, and deep-frying.

1989
Pressure cookers in floral design
In the 1980s, Fissler and the Annweiler Enamel & Metal Works, a specialist in enamelled cookware in Germany, captured the spirit of a generation. The floral, colorful designs of their enamelled pressure cookers captivated passionate cooks worldwide and set a trend in the industry.

1992
The Magic Series
With the Magic series, Fissler defined new standards in function and design at the end of the 1980s. The innovative look of the new Fissler pressure cooker set benchmarks for an entire category.

Leading technology and premium materials: the Vitavit® Premium pressure cooker now boasts an elegant, satin-finished surface and an additional cooking level: Four cooking levels, including a pressureless steam cooking level for health-conscious steaming of, for example, fish or vegetables, enable even gentler or very fast cooking.
