Asparagus in a pressure cooker

Cooking asparagus in a pressure cooker - tips & tricks

Asparagus is arguably the quintessential spring vegetable. It's delicious and healthy, too. And in a pressure cooker like the vitavit® premium, it can be prepared even faster and more gently. This pressure cooker not only reduces the conventional cooking time by up to 70%, but also ensures that vitamins, minerals, and all the aromas are largely preserved. The asparagus tastes particularly intense as a result. Furthermore, the pressure cooker is incredibly easy and safe to use.

Fast, faster, pressure cooker

Whether white or green asparagus, the cooking time is reduced to a minimum with a pressure cooker, and the vegetables are cooked to perfection. Here's how:

Step 1:

White asparagus is first peeled.

Step 2:

Then add at least 200 to 300 ml of water to the pressure cooker. If the spears are being cooked lying down, they should ideally only be just covered with water.

Step 3:

After a short cooking time, the asparagus is ready to serve. For example, preparing 500 g of asparagus (whole spears) in the steamer basket on level 1 takes just 3 to 6 minutes. Complete asparagus dishes can also be prepared just as quickly and gently in the Vitavit® Premium.

An additional tip:

Larger portions of asparagus become especially delicious when butter, salt, and sugar are added to the water for extra flavor. The insert is simply placed on the bottom of the pressure cooker (without the rotating leg).
