According to a study by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Elmar Schlich* and Dr. Michaela Schlich**, who compared conventional boiling with pressure steam cooking in the Vitavit® Premium, around 90% of the valuable vitamin C is retained in dishes cooked in a pressure cooker. In contrast, conventional boiling in water destroys a large portion of it – in the case of carrots, even over 50%. Vitamin B1, contained in potatoes, also benefits from the rapid steam cooking method. Nearly 90% of this vitamin, important for the nervous system, is preserved, compared to only about 70% when boiled.
* Prof. Dr.-Ing. Elmar Schlich was Professor of Process Engineering in Food and Service Companies at the Justus Liebig University Giessen at the time of the study.
** Dr. Michaela Schlich is a lecturer in nutrition and consumer education at the University of Koblenz-Landau.

Stainless steel cleaner
Gentle and scratch-free removal of grease stains and burnt-on food.
Phosphate and formaldehyde free, biodegradable and economical in use.
Important instructions
Stainless steel handles
Cookware with stainless steel handles is particularly suitable for use on gas stoves and in the oven.
Glass lid
Never cool a hot glass lid abruptly with cold water.
Caution: Grease
To avoid burns from overflowing or splashing fat, always use a tall pot for deep-frying and fill it no more than halfway with fat. Do not use a lid and do not overheat (maximum fat temperature 200°C).
Beware of overheating!
The cookware should not be heated empty or with fat on a high heat setting for more than 2 minutes. If overheated, the base may turn golden. This discoloration does not affect its function. In extreme cases of overheating, the base may be damaged. In this case, never remove the cookware from the heat source to avoid burns. Turn off the heat source and allow the cookware to cool down.
Cooking with salt
Never add salt to cold water; always add it to boiling water and stir. Adding salt to cold water can create an extremely high salt concentration at the bottom of the appliance, which can lead to corrosion. While these changes to the stainless steel do not affect its functionality or cooking properties, they are difficult or impossible to reverse.
Non-stick coated products
A non-stick coating requires special care and handling. Here are some helpful tips to ensure you enjoy your cookware for a long time.
Protect the seal
Do not cut with a knife in the cookware and do not use metallic or sharp-edged objects for turning and stirring. Please use only plastic or wooden kitchen utensils.
The correct stovetop setting prevents overheating. Thanks to the proven Fissler quality "Made in Germany," heating the pan at 2/3 of the stovetop power is sufficient for perfect frying results. This protects the high-quality coating and significantly extends the pan's lifespan.
Use of glass ceramic hob
To avoid scratches on a glass-ceramic cooktop, you should always lift your cookware when moving it.
Frequent sliding of items across a glass-ceramic surface can leave visible traces of aluminum abrasion on an exposed aluminum base. These aluminum marks can be removed with Fissler stainless steel cleaner.
Use of a glass-ceramic hob
Regularly remove loose dirt with a cloth or sponge and a little cleaning or dish soap. This will prevent dirt from becoming baked on over time.
Stainless steel handles
Cookware with stainless steel handles is particularly suitable for use on gas stoves and in the oven.
Glass lid
Never cool a hot glass lid abruptly with cold water.
Pans suitable for induction cooktops
Make sure not to place the pan on an induction hob that is too large for the pan; use one that is a suitable size or slightly smaller. Otherwise, the appliance may not connect properly or at all. Of course, this will also save you energy.
