70 years of pressure cooking by Fissler - the new Colour Blocking anniversary edition of Vitavit® and Vitaquick®

Idar-Oberstein, July 2023 – Premium cookware manufacturer Fissler is celebrating 70 years of pressure cooking with an exclusive, limited-edition anniversary model of its pressure cooker. The anniversary commemorates the invention of the first multi-stage safety valve for pressure cookers in 1953. Under the motto " Ahead of its time – Safe, fast, and healthy since 1953, " Fissler showcases its tradition and expertise in pressure cookers.

The celebrations reach their climax in September with the launch of Fissler's most successful pressure cooker collections in an exclusive, limited-edition design: the Vitavit® and Vitaquick® are getting a makeover. To mark its 70th anniversary, Fissler's versatile pressure cooker is bringing a splash of color to kitchens. The design of the Vitavit® and Vitaquick® anniversary editions is inspired by the fashion and interior design colors of the 1950s – the decade in which Fissler revolutionized cooking. Fissler engineers invented and patented the first multi-stage safety valve, making the pressure cooker safe for home use for the first time.

The pressure cookers in the anniversary edition represent a milestone in the brand's tradition of pressure cooking. Since 1953, they have embodied everything that Fissler stands for as a premium brand and family business:

  • Appreciation for the chefs and the ingredients
  • Craftsmanship “Made in Germany”
  • Sustainability – not only in terms of production and durability, but also through energy efficiency and, of course, the highest quality standards in terms of safety and handling.

Like all Fissler pressure cookers, the Vitavit® and Vitaquick® anniversary editions are sustainably manufactured in Germany and decorated exclusively by hand. With the invention of the first multi-stage safety valve, Fissler revolutionized cooking worldwide. The 1950s were characterized by Mid-Century Chic – and so is this current edition. The limited anniversary edition will be available from September 1st, starting at €199, via the Fissler online shop and selected retailers. The anniversary editions are available as Vitaquick® Premium in 4.5L and 6L sizes, and as Vitavit® Premium in 4.5L and 6L sizes.

Voices from the family-owned company Fissler on the big anniversary of the pressure cooker:

Juliane, Global Product Manager

"The 1950s were crucial to Fissler's success and the breakthrough for pressure cookers worldwide. Therefore, they are the perfect inspiration for our anniversary edition. The 1950s were the era of contrasts, with color blocking as a key theme. For our limited anniversary edition, we've used these themes in a modern interpretation. We've incorporated the colors Mauve Orchid, Bluing, and Cadmium Yellow, which—just like our pressure cookers—are more on trend now than ever before."

 Claire, Brand and Communication Manager

"Pressure cookers have been inextricably linked to the Fissler brand for 70 years. Besides the well-known, unique advantages that only pressure cooking offers, the numerous one-pot dishes are a definite plus for me personally. It's fun to be inspired by cuisines from all over the world. Thanks to pressure cookers, my cooking habits are now healthier, more versatile, and more international."

Heiko, Head of Innovation & Product Development

"The pressure cooker is one of the most versatile products I know. It covers so many uses that it can replace many other products in the kitchen. For me, it's particularly remarkable that we've managed to continually rethink and optimize the pressure cooker for 70 years. Even 70 years ago, it was truly perfect in terms of 'safe and reliable'. We create timeless products with long life cycles. We have always worked with the highest quality materials and a passion for perfection. We also maintain spare parts for discontinued products for many years, even decades, so choosing a Fissler product can be a decision for generations to come. That's true sustainability, designed AND made in Germany."

Beate, Senior Manager Trademarks & Training

"I am delighted by how modern the Fissler pressure cooker presents itself on its 70th anniversary. It fits perfectly with a healthy, sustainable lifestyle and current food trends. Pressure cooking optimally preserves the valuable vitamins, minerals and aromas of our food. You can't cook any healthier or tastier."

 Milena, Marketing EMEA Specialist

"My grandmother has been cooking with a Fissler pressure cooker since the 1970s and still raves about how quick and easy it is to cook. Now, in 2023, almost 50 years later, it's an indispensable part of my kitchen as well. On its 70th anniversary, it touches me that pressure cooking has made cooking easier for generations and always embodies the spirit of the times. Especially when we need something quick during our lunch break or after work, the Vitavit® Premium is my go-to. Simple, quick, and delicious cooking."
